The Vocational Nursing program at Contra Costa Medical Career College has been designed to provide students with the exact skills and knowledge needed in as short an amount of time as possible – just one year! The VN program is offered in-person at our Antioch, Ca. campus, so students are able to learn theory in the classroom and receive hands-on technical training through on-campus labs. Under the guidance of professional faculty, every student receives the personalized instruction and individualized guidance and support they need in order to be successful.
Contra Costa Medical Career College’s VN program prepares students with the basic skills needed to be prepared for employment as vocational nurses (VNs). Students learn the essential skills needed to provide basic nursing care, administer medications, document a patient’s signs and symptoms, and perform therapeutic and rehabilitative measures. The program also includes a clinical externship, providing students with critically-important hands-on skills training.
The Vocational Nursing program at Contra Costa Medical Career College is designed to be completed in as few as 52 weeks. Upon completion of CCMCC’s program, graduates receive Certificate of Completion, and are prepared to take the NCLEX exam for Vocational Nurse licensure.
